Dear Patients,
Great News - We're Now a Medicare Bulk Billing Practice
We are excited to announce that from November 1st, 2025, Flinders Clinic will be participating in the new Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program. This means that most of your consultations with us will now be bulk billed at no cost to you. The only requirement is that you are MyMedicare Registered at our Practice.
What this means for you:
Starting from November 1st 2025, if you are MyMedicare registered with our Practice, then we will bulk bill all standard GP consultations and some other services covered by the program. This includes:
· Standard consultations (short, medium, and long appointments)
· Chronic disease management plans
· Mental health care plans
· Most preventive health services
You will simply need to bring your Medicare card, and there will be no out-of-pocket cost for these services.
Important: Many services will still incur a fee:
The government's bulk billing program only covers basic consultations and a limited number of specific Medicare services.
If it's not a simple consultation, you should expect to pay a fee.
Services that will incur charges include:
· All procedures (skin lesion removals, injections, minor surgery, etc.)
· All paperwork and administrative tasks (medical certificates, insurance reports, employment medicals, completing documents, care summaries, etc.)
· Non-Medicare services (cosmetic treatments, travel medicine, some vaccinations, health assessments for employment/insurance)
· Telehealth consultations (that don’t meet Medicare eligibility requirements)
Our policy is simple: If it's not a standard face-to-face consultation covered by Medicare, there will likely be a fee.
Our reception team will inform you of any charges when you book your appointment, but please expect that most services beyond basic consultations will incur a cost.
Why we made this decision:
The government's new bulk billing incentives make it possible for us to provide more of our services at no cost to you while maintaining the high quality of care you expect. We believe this will improve access to healthcare for all our patients and support our community's health and wellbeing.
Our commitment to you remains the same:
Whether bulk billed or privately billed, you will continue to receive the same high standard of care from our dedicated team. We remain committed to spending adequate time with each patient and providing comprehensive, personalised healthcare.
Questions?
If you have any questions about these changes, please don't hesitate to ask our reception team or speak with your doctor during your next visit. We've also prepared a detailed FAQ sheet available at reception and on our website.
We look forward to continuing to serve you and your family with this enhanced accessibility to healthcare.
Sincerely,
The Team at Flinders Clinic
